Clovis 2012

We are praising God once again for His faithfulness!! We spent 6 weeks at the Clovis Church dismantling and upgrading the interior of their sanctuary and entryway. The time we spent at Clovis passed quickly because of the fellowship and love that was shown us.
Even though not all of the plans had been finalized for the project when we arrived – the Clovis team had already removed the ceiling drywall and insulation. Our crew removed the old ducting and installed new, including ceiling boxes and returns. We did a lot of drywall patchwork and mudding with the bulk of the drywall work being done by Bro. Mauldin’s crew. After the ceiling was complete, we helped Bro. Wharton build 22’ faux beams for the ceilings. After sanding and staining the beams were installed. Installing 2, 22’ beams at a time, in a 44’ room – 20’ in the air was interesting! With beams in place we then concentrated on the wall texturing and painting. The brethren from Shafter, along with Bro. Thiem and his crew handled the electrical, sound system, and projection.
Once again – we had a wonderful time of fellowship with the Clovis Church. We are so thankful to have gotten to know each of them. They were a such a blessing to us!

Keyes 2012

We started off our ministry this year with the New Hope Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Keyes. We would like to thank them again for their love and generosity. We were joined by Bro. Richard and Sis. Robyn Wharton of the Chapel Builders, Bro. Bob Phillips from Clovis, Bro. Jay Weidner from Cypress, Bro. Nate O’day from North Highlands and Pastor Hunt and several members of the Keyes Church. We accomplished an exhaustive list of projects over a short period of time that included – siding on the parsonage, concrete work, painting, texturing, installing cabinets for audio controls, stucco work, new porch hand rails and much more.

Mojave 2011 Part 2!

This was our second time in Mojave this year. This time we worked on their kitchen area. This was quite a project – we gutted the room, including the concrete floor due to the 3 inch hump in the floor down the middle. Once the old concrete floor was removed, we poured a new level floor, sheet-rocked, textured, painted, added new lighting and electrical, put in new cabinets and tiled the counter-tops – WHEW! This was all done in a 3 week period along with some outside ditch digging and stuccoing! It was a busy 3 weeks, but also a blessed time with this church that has become family – someday they will get sick of seeing us:)

Star City Arkansas 2011

After 1 week we were on the road to Arkansas. Our first stop was Little Rock to spend time with our kids, Luke & Cassia, and our grandsons, Duncan & Logan. We spent 3 wonderful weeks with them then headed to Star City Arkansas and the Bethlehem MBC. This Macedonian Project was our first and it was an enormous blessing. To see so many builders in one place – coming together to build a sanctuary for this church was awesome. During our time there, Carita was sick for most of it. She sat in her recliner and watched out the big window in our 5th wheel. She said it was like watching a time lapse video. When we got there the foundation was poured – by the end of the week the sanctuary was completely up, roofed and weatherized. By the second week it was completely enclosed, electrical 90% done, heating and air almost finished and MORE!! It was an unbelieveable experience. Many times in California what we mainly do is remodel – so this was enourmous blessing to do a project from the ground up. And not only that – but the fellowship was so incredible. The church had a revival during the first week. We were able to hear from many of our builders who are also pastors and evangelists. We can not express what a blessing these 2 weeks were. As you may of guessed, we can not wait to be part of another Macedonian Project.

Santa Paula 2011

After spending July at home we were on the road again! This time we were going to be on the road for almost 4 months so the 5th wheel was packed:) Our first stop was Santa Paula to do some drywall, texturing, painting, door installations, lighting and electrical and more. We always have a great time in fellowship with this church and their kindness to us is always overwhelming.
